Dear Bob, I'm now safely back in my San Juan Mountains of New Mexico and have had time to reflect on my recent hunt with your outfit. First let me say that since you and I have both been elk outfitters for over a quarter of a century, it was quite natural that we liked each other immediately. Your realistic, straight shooting, no BS approach was greatly appreciated. Professionally you run a tight ship with great attention to detail. The difficulty of wilderness hunting on horseback is so laborious and I want to compliment you on how smoothly this wonderful experience went for me. Also let me add that these sincere words are from a guy who has hired over 50 Outfitters in four continents over the course of my hunting career. I can easily recognize a well run Outfit when I see it. Much of the credit for my great hunt goes to my guide Phil Quick. This man is a dedicated hard working guide who has passion for another Man's dreams and that is rare. I commend him for making this hunt one of the top three in my lifetime. Also let me add that I currently employee 30 Rocky Mountain Elk guides here in New Mexico and I know what a good guide is!! Thanks Phil. I almost passed this great bull "Mr Perfect" a.k.a. "Tres Grande" for the 23"+ tres tine on his right side. He just didn't have anything that distinguished him. Not wide, not long, yet the mass seemed good. Now as I admire this magnificent beast, I am thrilled !! My second best bull ever (352+), but the terrific experience greatly out weights the trophy. Every time I look at the bull I will think of you and Phil, and my excellent adventure. Thanks so much, Feel free to use me as a reference. |
