If you want to enjoy a true back country elk hunt you need to hunt with Trails West Outfitters.  The country is huge, scenic and full of elk.

The guides know the country like the back of their hand.  My guide, Rod Litzel, was an extremely knowledgeable and excellent guide.  He could climb the mountains like a billy goat. I think they know where the elk will go before the elk do.

Be patient and they will get you in a position to be successful.

Remember to do your part and be ready to ride, hike and shoot.
